IT Intern RESPONSIBILITIES: The intern would work full time on projects that will influence the overall enhance effectiveness of the IT Department work at PBE. These projects include:
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN.
- Installs and configures workstations.
- Provides end users support for all LAN- based applications.
- Day-to-day network preventative maintenance.
- Answer "Help Desk" calls.
- Potential for working a split 2nd shift.
Guidance will be provided by our IT team as well as other relevant PBE functions. This will provide good cross functional exposure to multiple departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - A rising junior or senior, working toward a Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Well organized, able to work independently on multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and appropriate attitude, appearance, interpersonal skills, and work ethic
- Attending college with a major in Information Technology / Computer Science
- Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, HTML/.Net coding, and Help Desk support
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop OS installation and maintenance
- Pro-active, resourceful, creative thinking and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Standing, sitting, lifting up to 15 lbs. repetitive use of keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time
- Typical working schedule is first shift hours. Remote work possible when necessary
