IT Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is a global organization with offices in the City of London. They are seeking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Support and Maintenance Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in 1st to 3rd line support.

The successful candidate will work with users in Japanese and English, collaborating closely with relevant parties to ensure coordinated IT infrastructure support and project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage IT infrastructure projects
  • Communicate and coordinate with project managers at HQ in Japanese
  • Coordinate with users across different offices in English
  • Provide support during system deployment and migration, including user manuals and training
  • Global user support, acting as 2nd/3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues
  • Escalate incidents to vendors as necessary
  • Manage incidents using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
Skills / Knowledge Technical Skills
  • Proven experience in IT service management operations
  • Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, proxy, firewall, switching, routing, WiFi)
  • Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server, Azure)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
  • Support and troubleshooting skills at the second line level
Additional Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Japanese (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Adaptability to fast-changing environments
  • User-facing support skills
  • Self-motivated with an innovative mindset
Experience
  • 3 to 5+ years of IT experience in a corporate setting
  • Second line technical support
  • System maintenance
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Virtual Desktop, Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of Cisco/Fortinet technologies
  • Project management experience is preferred

The salary range for this position is £35,000 to £45,000.
