Position Title: IT Infrastructure Project Manager
Department: Technology
Reports to: Vice President of Finance & Technology

Position Summary Pacific Science Center's mission is to ignite curiosity in every child and fuel a passion for discovery, experimentation and critical thinking in all of us. PacSci is proud to serve our community with innovative informal science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education resources including digital content and in-person experiences. The IT Infrastructure Project Manager is instrumental in:
- Researching, proposing, and implementing new technologies with potential benefit to PacSci
- Applying creative problem-solving to support fiscal responsibility and maximize resources
- Providing professional and responsive IT support to PacSci colleagues
- Assisting with the maintenance of the backend and hardware for all technology related to PacSci software, servers, cloud integrations, workstations, network, and phone systems
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Plan, execute, and manage IT infrastructure projects, including cloud transitions, software implementations, cybersecurity initiatives, and other key initiatives as needed
- Work in close collaboration with the Technology Manager and VP of Finance & Technology to identify and prioritize key department initiatives and manage their successful implementation
- Research, propose, and implement new technologies with potential benefit to PacSci
- Serve as a technical resource for any third-party cloud-based software used by other departments at PacSci, as needed
- Act as point of contact for helping other PSC departments navigate their technology needs
- Define project scope, budgets, and deliverables in alignment with the Science Center's mission and funding constraints
- Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring minimal disruption to center operations and visitor experiences
- Support AV and IT systems used for planetariums, science theaters, and interactive learning spaces
- Assist the Technology Manager with:
- Systems administration for Office365, Exchange, MS AD, File Servers, Print Servers, SharePoint, Backups, Ticketing Systems, and other internally supported technology solutions including building and maintenance, backups and disaster recovery, in a mostly Microsoft, Hyper-V environment
- Network administration for the physical network, including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Vlans, Vsans, Wall Ports, Cat5, Fiber and Wi-fi
- Phone system administration, which includes managing Teams phones, Teams Handsets and the systems used for alarm and elevator lines
- Manage relationships with IT related vendors used in projects
- Participate in creating, maintaining and enforcing IT related policies
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of:
- Concepts such as Domains, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, GP, AD, PS, Vlans, Vsans, Firewalls, firewall policies, routing, backups and disaster recovery
- MS software including Server, Hyper-V, Exchange, SharePoint, AD, AAD, SQLServer, different versions of windows, backups, Office Products and Office365
- Server and network hardware
- Helpdesk management
- Current computer hardware and software for business environments and trending technologies.
Skills:
- Excellent prioritization and management of multiple concurrent projects
- Efficient diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software problems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to:
- Quickly learn new technologies and apply new skills
- Work independently and within a team
- Work comfortably and confidently with all levels of the organization
- Adapt to rapidly changing priorities and levels of urgency
- Handle stressful situations and demanding customers with a positive and professional attitude
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, meeting expectations and achieving intended value.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a system manager in a mid-size, complex organization

Compensation Pay is based on several factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience.
Starting Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000/year
In addition to base salary, regular employees working 40 hrs/week can expect the following benefits:
