Overview This person will work closely with the Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer installing network cabling and troubleshooting network related problems. This position may require occasional travel to other Penn College campuses/sites. This position may require some evening and weekend.
QualificationsEDUCATION - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Required
- Associate's Degree or higher in Information Technology. Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required
EXPERIENCE - One (1) year of experience working in the Information Technology field. Preferred
- Experience working with Windows operating systems. Preferred
- Experience working with Cisco networking equipment. Preferred
- Experience installing network cabling. Preferred
- Experience in troubleshooting network and server related problems. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS - Ability to work with a computer and computer applications. Required
- Ability to identify and solve problems in concise and practical ways. Required
- Ability to work under limited supervision. Required
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical assistance to students in dorms experiencing network related problems such as IP, cable and network interface card Issues. Provide technical assistance to faculty/staff/student members experiencing network and phone related problems. Interact w/ other student assistant's working for the department of network operations and train and direct them in the proper procedures of implementing and troubleshooting basic network strategies. Assist the manager with the installation, maintenance and upgrading of the college wide communications and network systems. Physical Standards and Special Job Features Must be capable of lifting and carrying computer/network hardware components not to exceed 50 lbs.
Pay Transparency $17.25 per hour.
