The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations is seeking a conscientious leader who can improve collaboration and execute IT service delivery to various programs that supports CDCR mission.

Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) is a member of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of technical analysts. The position performs independently, with minimum supervision, and is responsible for advanced personal computer (PC) support and network connectivity. The position leads technical staff that provides first line support for personal computer workstation installation, problem diagnostics and resolution, training and customer support. Duties extend to provide support for planning, acquiring, researching and evaluating new technology and products to be used within the current technical environment. The position establishes and maintains constructive professional relationships with the bureau's PC customers and must effectively communicate technical information with them, including those customers considered to be non-technical.

The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. Working Conditions

NKSP opened in April 1993. NKSP is a medium-security prison located in Delano, Kern County. NKSP also known as Diamond of the Golden Empire. Delano is located in the Kern County-Bakersfield metropolitan area and has grown to become the second largest city in Kern County. The facility acts as both a reception center, and a medium custody facility, as well as a transportation hub for when incarcerated persons are transported over a long distance through California.
