Are you ready to shape the technological future of North Carolina? The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) seeks a dynamic
IT Enterprise Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture & Innovation organization. The IT Enterprise Architect will work on a team alongside other IT Architects to ensure state applications and solutions meet the desired standards, governance, and architecture framework. This role puts you at the intersection of innovation and practical implementation, where your expertise will help transform how North Carolina citizens interact with government services. As IT Enterprise Architect, you'll evaluate how technology solutions align with business needs across state agencies. You'll also contribute to system design and analysis, supporting state agencies using NCDIT's cloud and datacenter infrastructure, while participating in architecture reviews for enterprise IT projects and State IT Procurement.
Duties include, but are not limited, to:
- Reviewing, guiding, and supporting enterprise-wide IT projects and IT procurements governed by enterprise architecture
- Collaborating with an enterprise-wide stakeholder group to assess, develop, and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy and governance in alignment with the state of North Carolina's goals and objectives
- Evaluating current technology infrastructure and applications to identify areas of improvement and opportunity
- Establishing and upholding state-wide enterprise architecture principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency, interoperability, security, and optimization
- Assessing potential risks associated with initiatives as it relates to enterprise architecture and working with stakeholders to improve, protect, and secure

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in all areas of information technology architectural components, interfaces and their applications or related work;
OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of progressive experience in all areas of information technology architectural components, interfaces and their applications or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
