An exciting job opportunity has arisen for an IT Engineer at Clays within our IT Department. This role is incredibly varied and offers a great learning opportunity for the successful candidate. It offers exposure to the 2nd and 3rd line engineers, providing an opportunity to gain experience on more technical systems.

Role Responsibilities:
  • To act as first point of contact for calls to the Service Desk, logging information in a ticket system aiming for first contact resolution but escalating to the appropriate team member when necessary.
  • Fault finding on a wide range of hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, and barcode scanners throughout the factory.
  • Administration of the specialist factory server system.
  • Administration of Active Directory, DHCP, WiFi and Office 365.
  • Maintaining records and updating department 'how-to' documentation.
  • Provide regular updates to users about their request and to keep them informed to conclusion.
  • Provide assistance with and perform system builds/re-builds, software installation, upgrades and patch management on PCs, laptops and peripherals as required.
  • Participate in departmental rota to enable the team to provide round-the-clock support to include early shift and on-call responsibilities periodically.
About You:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and packages. Experience of Office 365 is desirable.
  • Be self-motivated, with a learning mind-set.
  • Be happy to learn new tools, techniques, and platforms towards creating innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work at all levels within the organisation.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Be passionate about IT.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to listen and follow instructions.
  • A solution focussed individual with a natural problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ideally the candidate will have a relevant qualification in IT, for example CompTia A+, A level or a Microsoft certification.
  • Previous experience in an IT helpdesk environment would be an advantage.
