As a member of our small and mighty IT team, you'll wear many hats and experience a broad range of needs within a rapidly maturing Quantum Computing company. Our people are quite compute literate so you'll find that the support needed is at a higher level that requires comfort and skill with eliciting requirements, self-motivation to 'go to' the customer versus sitting behind a help desk ticketing system, and desire to learn about the customer's work and workflow in order to provide the best solutions. There are no limits at Rigetti; we are happy for you to learn and grow as fast as you desire.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities Will Be Related to Help-Desk
    • You'll manage and configure Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, and permissions with best practice in mind.
    • We value documentation both for ourselves and our users; we use Confluence - a lot. We'd expect you to document solutions, IT procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • We are ever-more focused on cybersecurity. We need help monitoring and responding to cybersecurity alerts, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
You'll Also Own the Hardware Side of the Equation
    • We are heavy Mac users with a smaller base of PC users. We need help with system patching, updates, and software deployments to maintain a secure environment.
    • Inventory management, refresh cycles, maintaining a set of standards.
    • You will get exposed to supporting researchers and engineers by maintaining lab IT infrastructure and workstations.
You'll Model a Solutions-Oriented Mindset for Rigetti
    • From onboarding to servicing, and finally offboarding, you play a key role in enabling our people and solving their workflow needs.
    • Some of our key service apps include: Google, MS Office, Jamf, Intune, Crowdstrike, AD on-prem, Atlassian to name a few.
    • We'll look for you to stay continually updated on the capabilities of the tools, and to have the curiosity and interest to explore new solutions that might be advantageous for us.
Requirements
    • 3-5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or technical support roles.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows and MacOS.
    • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
    • Familiarity with network troubleshooting (DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs).
    • Some understanding of cybersecurity practices and endpoint protection.
    • Ability to work independently and triage and resolve IT issues.
    • Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
