IT Engineer Global Communications Cambridge
We're looking for a proactiveIT Engineer to support our growing team in Cambridge.
In this hands-on role, you'll be the first line of support across hardware, software, and network issues - keeping systems running smoothly and enabling your colleagues to stay productive. You'll work across a range of modern tools and platforms, supporting everything from laptops to cloud services. It's a great opportunity to gain real breadth in a technically fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide hardware support and troubleshooting for on-site users
- Monitor, triage, and resolve support tickets within defined SLAs
- Manage and maintain IT equipment stock; place orders when needed
- Act as the first escalation point for incidents and outages
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes for starters and leavers
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers and service providers to resolve issues
- Contribute to IT projects and infrastructure improvements
- Document repeatable IT tasks, processes, and end-user guides
- Administer and support SaaS and PaaS applications used by the business
- Identify and recommend ways to reduce recurring issues through process or tech improvements
What You'll Bring
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 and Apple OS environments
- Familiarity with Azure AD (Entra), Active Directory, Group Policies, and Office 365
- Understanding of basic networking: IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, VLANs, etc.
- Experience with Windows imaging and device deployment
- Comfortable working with mobile devices (Android/iOS) in a managed environment
- Awareness of Windows Server, Azure, and AWS platforms
- A problem-solving mindset and a friendly, customer-first approach
