Samsung IT Group is requiring a team to do a PC/Workstation refresh. This project will last approximately 10 months. Looking for candidates that that have superior customer service skills and have a strong technical background.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT hardware/software support or related field, minimum 2 years
- Extensive knowledge of basic networking
- Customer Service Skills, 3+ years
- Imaging, Deploying, & Replacing old PC hardware
- Ability to communicate effectively with customer
- Able to take direction and work well as part of a team
- Prepare Computer for Deployment
- Unbox new equipment and dispose of trash
- Reach out to user(s) to schedule time for upgrade
- Rename PC to corresponding department
- Register security software
- Document asset with new location/name/owner
- Swap out old Samsung PC and hardware
- Replace monitors with new monitors
- Replace Keyboard and Mouse
- Dispose of old IT Equipment (record serial number, remove HDD, submit information to accounting)
- Check for network connectivity
- Ensure that PC is connected to network
- PC should have a valid IP address and pingable on network
- Work with Firewall Engineers to migrate firewall and IP reservations
- Data Transfer
- Run data transfer script and verify the files moved
- Manual data transfer is required if there's complications
