Role:
The primary role of this position is to be the key partner to our members financial journey and to help further the Credit Union's commitment to strengthening our communities and expand our current membership. To achieve this mission, the position must deliver high-quality service to both internal and external members. To analyze, maintain, design, and develop new and existing software programs; provide guidance, instructions, and support to all levels of company personnel and members. Program core system based on research and collaboration with other departments.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

30%
Oversees the day to day operations of the Symitar Core system and OpCon, including related 3rd party interfaces and services.

System maintenance updates and hardware upgrades of the Core System (Symitar).

Work with 3rd party vendor support to diagnose issues related to the Core System and related processes.

Provides as-needed assistance with various security efforts, such as data security and integrity, software patch management, backups, and physical and user security. Assists users in solving system problems, including running reports in system operations.

Assist with Desktop related support functions when needed.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1.
Research and resolve issues related to any in-house or purchased software application, across
multiple hardware platforms and programming languages in a timely manner.
2.
Communicate effectively with users at all levels to understand their job functions, business needs
and strategic direction.
3.
Develop and maintain knowledge of each users' department's duties, computerized information
systems and underlying data to successfully design and develop the systems and programs to meet
their needs.
4.
Expand skill set by learning new languages, techniques, and systems and share this knowledge and
experience with other members of the programming team.
5.
Provide system support services on-site, on-line and/or via telephone during working hours and
on-call after normal working hours responding to calls or messages within 24 hours.
6.
Keep management informed of any key issues affecting the department.
7.
Must be well versed in Regulations such as: REG CC, BSA, OFAC, Reg B, Reg Z and MIP (CIP).
8.
To practice, promote, and support the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the CU and to ensure they are carried out by each employee.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
Education
A college degree in an Information Technology related field is preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Employees should find every opportunity to writing good into the life stories of those around us.
Other Skills
Knowledge of Symitar programming or Symitar Power-ons a plus. Experience with Synergy, Synapsys, and/or Xperience a plus. Ability to think orderly, logically and analytically and strong problem solving skills. Must have good communication skills.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
Vision requirements include: close vision and the ability to focus. Nature of the position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds.
Work Environment
Full-time employees are required to complete (16) hours of volunteerism and (8) hours for Part-time employees. All volunteer time has to be approved prior to event. In addition, needs to benefit or have an impact in Harris County.
