Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Outside Salesperson to join our team and embody our values of doing the right thing, always learning and always sharing, and simplifying the complex. This role will ultimately transition the sales responsibilities from our CEO. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales and technology, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to help businesses succeed through our IT solutions. This role involves generating new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and driving sales growth.


About Us: Simplex-IT specializes in delivering tailored IT solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in Northeast Ohio. We offer Managed Services for organizations without an internal IT department, and Co-Managed IT services for those that do. Our clients enjoy our approach to IT, which is to simplify the complex and ensure a jerk-free environment. This way they are able to deal with both risks and opportunities through well-managed and defined IT services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with our Marketing Department to process generated leads.
  • Generate leads through outbound calling, networking, and other strategies to identify potential clients.
  • Utilize CRM software (primarily Hubspot) to track interactions and manage sales pipelines effectively.
  • Conduct meaningful initial conversations with potential clients, identifying problems and opportunities while fostering a jerk-free environment and ensuring no drama.
  • Conduct sales presentations and negotiate terms to close deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, positioning Simplex-IT as a trusted advisor in their IT journey.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to provide insightful recommendations.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets through consistent follow-up and a strategic approach to closing deals.

Skills and Qualifications (at least some to be considered):

  • Reasonable understanding of IT services and MSP business models, including cloud computing, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business continuity (we'll train on some of this).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex IT concepts to engage and persuade often non-technical decision-makers. We're here to build relationships, not force feed unnecessary solutions, and we believe in always learning and always sharing.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. We've developed great sales tools and processes let's use and improve them.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales or consulting, preferably within an MSP or IT solutions environment.

Compensation:

  • Starting Salary: $36-48,000. A successful candidate would slide to a commission structure that would be at least double that after a 6-month startup period.
