What would I do?
As an IT Business/Data Analyst you will be a member of Western & Southern's IT Information Management Office (IMO) responsible for identifying and articulating business and stakeholder requirements as well as identifying data solutions that will maximize the value delivered. You will assist in the design of efficient, robust, and performant IT solutions that ensure quality data while fulfilling business requirements. You will participate in IT governance processes to ensure best practices and standards are implemented. This includes interviewing stakeholders, eliciting, analyzing, specifying and validating business, stakeholder, solution and transition requirements, and communicating those requirements to solution/development teams through the software development life cycle (Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative).
You will be working closely with the ETL & Warehousing, Master Data Management and Data Modeling teams within the IT IMO to support business units throughout the enterprise. In addition, you will serve as a liaison between the business customer and Information Technology (IT) project team(s) by building cooperative, constructive and effective working relationships with the internal and external customers, ensuring IT understands the business stakeholder requirements and resolving any gaps in understanding. In partnership with these teams you will deliver robust, high-performance data solutions that meet stakeholders' needs. With excellent relationship skills, you will help drive adoption of enterprise data solutions and data management practices.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in translating business needs into actionable IT requirements for data solutions, in particular, relational databases. Experience with SQL, Python, requirements documentation, data mapping and an eagerness to learn the insurance industry is highly welcomed. An individual in this role is expected to have a keen eye for process improvement, technical solutioning, and development of long-term strategies and roadmaps. Individuals should be comfortable working and communicating with a range of associates including IT partners, senior IT management, vendors, and business stakeholders.
