Kalos Services is seeking an experienced IT/AV Manager to oversee and integrate our internal IT infrastructure and audio-visual (AV) operations. This is a hands-on managerial position reporting directly to the President, ideal for a tech-savvy leader who can both strategize at a high level and dive into technical work. The IT/AV Manager will be responsible for maintaining reliable IT systems, leading AV support for training/events, and ensuring strong security and continuity practices. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in both IT and AV, with deep knowledge across network systems, software, and audio-visual technologies. (Relevant certifications are a plus but hands-on experience is essential.)

Schedule: Onsite 4 days/week, 1 day remote option

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 annually

Responsibilities
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee all internal IT infrastructure, including a Ubiquiti-based network (firewalls, Wi-Fi, switches), security cameras and access control systems, and company devices (computers, printers, phones, tablets). Ensure reliable performance, maintenance, and asset tracking for all IT equipment.
  • Software & SaaS Administration: Manage company software accounts and cloud services. Negotiate SaaS agreements and licenses, manage user accounts, and evaluate new technology solutions or API integrations that could improve operations. Ensure software systems (e.g. productivity tools, CRM, project management apps) are well-integrated and cost-effective.
  • Audio-Visual (AV) Operations: Lead the AV team in planning and executing technical aspects of company trainings, meetings, and events. Oversee AV equipment setup (cameras, microphones, mixing boards, lighting) for recording or live-streaming training sessions. Ensure structured file storage and archival of recorded media. Propose and implement AV solutions that meet business needs within budget constraints.
  • Team Leadership & Training: Schedule and manage IT/AV staff, interns, apprentices, and external vendors. Provide hands-on guidance and training to junior IT/AV team members. Train company staff on using AV recording technology (e.g. how to operate cameras or webinar tools during presentations) to empower teams to utilize technology effectively. Encourage documentation of IT/AV processes and enforce best practices across the department.
  • Security & Data Protection: Implement and enforce IT security best practices company-wide. This includes conducting employee security awareness training, managing user access permissions, and ensuring compliance with data protection policies. Coordinate with the software development team to review cloud application security. Maintain robust antivirus, patch management, and network security (firewall rules, VPN access, etc.) to protect company systems.
  • Backup & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain onsite and offsite backup strategies for critical systems and data. Ensure regular backups for servers, databases, and AV content archives. Plan for disaster recovery and business continuity - e.g. prepare recovery procedures and test restore processes - to minimize downtime in the event of IT failures or other emergencies.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with technology vendors and service providers. Manage contracts for IT services, Internet/telecom, and AV equipment rentals or purchases. Evaluate and recommend new hardware/software vendors as needed, ensuring the company gets quality service and support.
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with executive leadership (the President and others) to align the IT/AV roadmap with company goals. Proactively identify emerging technologies or process improvements that could benefit the business. Provide input on budgets for IT infrastructure upgrades and AV projects, focusing on cost-effective innovation.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Information Technology and Audio-Visual support/management, with deep knowledge in both domains. Prior experience in a managerial or team lead role is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on skills in network administration (Ubiquiti or similar networks), Windows/Linux system administration, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues. Familiarity with managing IP security cameras, door access control systems, VoIP phones, and mobile devices. In the AV realm, proficient with audio mixers, video cameras, streaming/recording hardware, and editing or production software.
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead a small technical team, schedule and prioritize work, and mentor junior staff. Excellent communication skills for training non-technical employees on IT/AV tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Project & Vendor Management: Experience coordinating technical projects (such as deploying new systems or running event AV setups) from planning to execution. Ability to manage multiple vendors and service contracts, and to negotiate favorable terms for software or equipment purchases.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset. Ability to remain hands-on and resolve technical issues directly when needed, while also capable of high-level planning. Must be adept at troubleshooting under time pressure (e.g. during live events or urgent IT incidents).
  • Security Mindset: Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection. Experience implementing security policies, backups, and disaster recovery plans. Knowledge of cloud security and working with developers on application security is a plus.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred (or equivalent work experience). Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft or Cisco certs, AVIXA CTS for AV, etc.) are optional but can be a plus.
