Position: Issue Validation Consultant

Contract-to-Hire (C2H)

Locations: Wilson, NC; Charlotte, NC; Richmond, VA; Atlanta, GA - 1 Day remote only

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Issue Validation and Testing Specialist to join our team. This role involves executing issue validation and testing, performing root cause analysis, and examining key risk metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of remediated business processes and controls. The specialist will thoroughly document issue validation activities and testing to ensure third-party reviewers can understand test steps, scope, and conclusions. Additionally, the role includes ensuring effective and appropriate testing and documentation of review activities in alignment with remediation plans to address root causes and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute issue validation and testing, root cause analysis, and examine key risk metrics.
  • Thoroughly document issue validation activities and testing for third-party review.
  • Ensure effective testing and documentation of review activities in alignment with remediation plans.
  • Prepare regular analysis and reporting of issue validation and remediation results.
  • Make recommendations and provide practical solutions for updating Business Unit control, policy, procedure, and risk/control documentation.
  • Address material issues with senior management, including technical discussions of root cause and evaluation of corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit and Risk Management partners to ensure timely and appropriate issue validation.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a financial institution with emphasis on risk management, audit, operations, process engineering, or line of business specialty.
  • Solid knowledge of risk management principles and controls, broad-based business practices, and understanding of business process and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lead quality assurance and process improvement efforts in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead and manage projects independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective working relationships within the organization.
  • Conceptual ability to analyze problems and devise solutions, including quantitative analysis and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
Nice to Have:
  • Strong technical knowledge of software development, cloud operations & infrastructure, cybersecurity, data & AI, or issues validation.
  • Comfortable operating in an environment with a high degree of change.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.
  • Ability to assess levels of adherence/execution and identify risk/control improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency and knowledge in ARCHER GRC Platform.
