Job Duties and Responsibilities The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Specialist is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic lifecycle management of hardware and software assets throughout the organization. This role is heavily focused on leveraging data from tools like ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, and Workspace One to ensure asset data quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will facilitate the planning, management, and disposition of IT assets, ensuring adherence to internal policies, controls, and vendor agreements. This individual will drive process efficiency, conduct audits, manage license compliance, and provide critical analysis and reporting to support key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the ITAM lifecycle for both hardware and software, ensuring the integrity and quality of asset data within the ServiceNow CMDB and other integrated systems.
- Analyze and reconcile asset data from multiple sources, including SCCM, Intune, and Workspace One, to ensure a single, accurate source of truth.
- Oversee and enhance the systems and tools used to manage, track, and report on IT assets, with a focus on driving automation and process efficiency.
- Manage software license and hardware contract compliance, including vendor reporting, internal and external audits, and supporting vendor relationship management.
- Perform license remediation and optimization for key publishers such as Microsoft (VLSC/M365) and Adobe (ETLA/VIP), including annual True-Up support.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and metrics to monitor the health and performance of the ITAM program and respond to data requests.
- Conduct regular audits of asset management processes, data, system controls, and physical asset security, partnering with compliance teams to validate effectiveness.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support for process improvement initiatives, new business operations, and cost-savings opportunities.
- Create and maintain clear procedural documentation, reports, and presentations for a variety of audiences, from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Physically handle IT equipment, including unboxing, assembly, disassembly, and preparation for disposal. Must be able to manage equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Skills, Experience and Requirements Education and Experience: - 5+ years of process/program management experience in a large enterprise environment
- 5+ years of IT Hardware and Software Asset Management experience in a large enterprise environment
Skills and Qualifications: - IAITAM certifications (CITAM, CHAMP, CSAM) preferred; strong knowledge of the ITAM lifecycle for hardware/software
- Deep understanding of ITAM's integration with ITSM, ITOM, FINOPS, and budget processes (CapEx/OpEx)
- Proficient in license remediation and vendor management, including Microsoft VLSC/M365, Adobe ETLA/VIP, and TrueUps
- Experienced in asset management tools and platforms, especially ServiceNow CMDB, SCCM, Workspace One, and GCP
- Knowledge of physical asset security, auditing, and software/hardware contract negotiations with vendors and publishers
- Strong grasp of ITIL practices and exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Salary Ranges Compensation: $83,950.00/Year - $115,000.00/Year
