Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an IT Architect for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities
  • Architectural Design: Lead the architectural design and implementation of software solutions leveraging Azure Cloud and Power Platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and flexibility.
  • Cloud Expertise: Bring deep expertise in cloud development and technologies (e.g., Azure App Services, Event Grid, Service Bus) and lead the development of cloud-based applications that integrate seamlessly with backend and third-party systems.
  • Power Platform Development: Utilize MS Power Platform to design and develop low code/no code solutions for business process automation, data visualization, and application development. Aid the creation of a Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE).
  • System Integration: Design integrations with D365, APIs, databases, and other integrated systems. Work with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure smooth data flow between systems.
  • D365 Implementation: Work with the Architecture team in reviewing designs for a D365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (F&SCM) and Customer Engagement (CE) implementations.
  • Data Modeling: Design data models that support business processes and ensure data integrity. Optimize database design for SQL Server/Azure SQL Database environments.
  • Cloud Strategy: Lead the development of a cloud strategy, including disaster recovery plans. Ensure the strategy aligns with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for software solutions and translate them into technical specifications and architecture designs.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify optimizations for scalability and efficiency where performance bottlenecks are discovered.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure the security of solutions, including encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation including architecture diagrams, design documents, and architecture building blocks.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members working on Azure Cloud and Power Platform projects. Promote a culture of continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience 5+ years as a Software Architect or similar role, focusing on Azure Cloud technologies. Experience with MS Power Platform.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices for Azure Cloud and Power Platform.
  • Experience with Agile-Scrum development methodology.
  • Ability to analyze existing systems to create architecture documentation outlining the current state and assist in building a transition path to a future state.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effective with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with .NET Technologies and Service-Oriented Architecture is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Bicep, and/or CI/CD Pipelines is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in Azure, TOGAF, and Power Platform are preferred.
