Where you'll work: You will be working onsite in North Kansas City, MO. An average day: As the IT Analyst III Authentication Service Support you will provide direct support for the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Authentication Services branch, responsible for administering and monitoring on-premises and Azure cloud authentication systems, ensuring secure and seamless access to mission-critical resources. In this role you will manage and optimize IT environments spanning servers, storage, networks, and cloud systems. You will focus on identity and access management by overseeing Active Directory, domain trusts, and smart card authentication. As well as, monitor performance, preparing systems for production, and collaborating with teams to ensure secure, reliable operations. In this position you will: Analyze, test, and manage server systems in Windows and/or Linux environments Conduct performance tuning, patch management, and capacity planning to ensure service reliability and efficiency Maintain detailed system documentation, change records, and architecture diagrams Administer enterprise storage systems, ensuring data reliability, backup integrity, and scalability Conduct system validation and support pre-production readiness activities Configure and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, wireless components), ensuring secure and resilient connectivity Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex network issues and resolve outages Provide daily support and administration for cloud-based systems (e.g., Azure), including provisioning, access control, and issue resolution Assist with cloud environment performance monitoring and support cloud-to-on-prem integrations Administer Active Directory, manage domain trusts, and support smart card authentication Maintain and troubleshoot identity and access control services across the enterprise Use enterprise tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, and ServiceNow to proactively monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts Analyze system performance metrics to identify and mitigate potential risks Provide operational support for databases, websites, and web applications Ensure optimal performance and availability in coordination with development and DBA teams Plan and execute user support initiatives, resolve escalated technical issues, and create/update standard operating procedures Facilitate working sessions and technical meetings to align on response efforts and share knowledge Apply IT security best practices, including patching, vulnerability assessments, and incident handling Maintain compliance with internal and external security standards Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending new tools and practices for integration into operations Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to infrastructure management Basic Qualifications: As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. Bachelor's degree in information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT management, and/or other IT degree (engineering, math, and science related degrees are acceptable) OR a High School Diploma or equivalent plus four additional years of relevant experience Eight (8) years of demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-level IT services, with increasing responsibility across infrastructure domains Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent certification preferred Hands-on expertise with server system analysis, design/testing, and administration (Windows and/or Linux environments) Proven skills in network engineering and administration, including routers, switches, and wireless network components Experience with cloud engineering, design/testing, and administration on platforms such as Azure or equivalent cloud providers Familiarity with authentication services and technologies such as Active Directory, domain trusts, and smart card authentication Proficiency with common enterprise monitoring and ticketing tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, ServiceNow) Practical knowledge of database management and basic web application support processes Solid understanding of security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response Strong communication and collaboration abilities to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Other Requirements: Will be subject to a Federal Background Investigation and must be able to obtain a Public Trust Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Listed below are the physical or mental requirements necessary for the job's performance.
