IP Patent Paralegal Specialist - Hybrid in Washington, D.C.
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal to work on an hybrid schedule. The ideal Candidate will be experienced in IP Patent Litigation and primarily support on patent related matters including domestic and international filings. The candidate will be responsible for the processing and protection of patent portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate domestic and international patent filings with the USPTO and foreign counsel or entities
- Maintain and monitor docket systems to track deadlines for responses, renewals, oppositions, PCT requirements, and patent annuity payments
- Prepare and file legal documents with the USPTO and/or foreign counsel
- Draft and record assignments and prepare client correspondence
- Compile and distribute status summary reports for attorneys and clients
- Review and take action on correspondence from foreign associates
- Obtain legalizations and certifications as needed
- Conduct legal research, including USPTO and industry database searches related to patent rights and matters
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and Paralegal Certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent law required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international patent prosecution, maintenance, and renewals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with patent docketing and research tools such as Innovation, PATTSY, Lexis/Nexis
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Eagerness to learn and stay current on legal tools and resources
Benefits
