Department Licensing
Reports to: Director of Compliance and Administration
Location: West Grove, PA/ Hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 work from home
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm
Function: Ensures the company's intellectual property (IP), licensing agreements, and royalties are properly managed and protected.
Duties and Responsibilities:Agreements - Prepare and manage company legal agreements, license agreements, breeder agreements, contract grower agreements, and trial agreements. When needed, work closely with outside counsel to make sure agreements are compliant. Create processes to streamline the agreement process to ensure all agreements are distributed to appropriate internal and external stakeholders to ensure they are received on time.
Royalties/Plant Breeder Payments - Prepares and executes the company's royalty and plant breeder reports to appropriate Licensees and Breeders on time and follows contractual schedules to ensure they receive the complete collection of reports and proper invoicing.
Collaboration - Works closely with other managers and departments including Ball Horticultural License Department to ensure information is entered and correct into the company's software system, SAP. Will need to work closely with the Portfolio Manager to ensure efficient and timely implementation of all changes regarding licensing, IP, and other legal items regarding each product line.
Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 of experience in developing and executing license agreements.
- Keen eye for details and well organized.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to communicate well to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially
Physical Demands Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 20 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines, such as computers, copies, fax machines, calculators, telephones and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Travel Requirements 0-10% - There maybe times this position can travel to local trade shows, industry events, or company-sponsored events.
