Job Title: Investran Data Consultant Private Equity / Fund Data Specialist
Location: New York, NY 10017 (Hybrid 3 days Onsite/Week)
Duration: 6-12+ Months
Hourly Rate: $Market/Hour on CTC or W2
Objective:
Provide strategic support in extracting, transforming, analysing, and reporting Private Equity and Fund data using Investran. The role involves deep knowledge of fund structures, capital calls/distributions, IRR calculations, and investor reporting workflows.
Core Responsibilities:
Serve as the Investran SME (Subject Matter Expert) for PE fund data projects, including data migrations, reconciliations, and reporting.
Manage complex fund structures, waterfall calculations, and carried interest allocations within Investran.
Extract, validate, and transform fund-level and investor-level data across entities and vintages.
Support fund accounting, capital activity tracking, investor allocations, NAV calculations, and performance metrics.
Work closely with deal teams, finance, and IT to ensure accurate data flow across systems and reports.
Automate investor reports (e.g., capital account statements, capital call/distribution notices).
Assist with integration between Investran and other systems (e.g., CRM, data warehouses, Excel-based tools).
Participate in Investran upgrades, patches, or data migration projects.
Required Experience & Skills:
Private Equity / Fund Accounting Expertise:
Deep understanding of Fund of Funds, Direct Funds, Co-Investments, and SPV structures.
Hands-on with capital calls/distributions, IRR, TVPI, DPI, MOIC, GP/LP allocations.
Familiarity with GAAP, ILPA standards, and quarterly investor reporting.
Investran Expertise:
Strong hands-on experience with Investran accounting and reporting modules.
Knowledge of Investran components such as VPM (Visual Portfolio Manager), Report Wizard, IQ, FrontVantage, QueryTool, IAPI, etc.
Experience with SQL Server and Investran data models for querying/reporting.
Technical Skills
SQL (advanced) querying Investran databases for reconciliation and reporting.
Excel/Power BI/Tableau for ad hoc and dashboard reporting.
Familiarity with ETL tools or integration frameworks (e.g., SSIS, Alteryx, MuleSoft).
Understanding of data governance, controls, and reconciliations.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of PE/Alternative Investment experience.
3+ years of Investran experience with fund data.
CPA, CFA, or CAIA certification is a plus.
Prior consulting or Big Four advisory experience in PE fund data projects.
