GENERAL SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, this role is responsible for recruiting and retaining investors (members) for GLI by developing targeted outreach strategies and clearly communicating GLI's vision and growth opportunities. Serves as the primary point of contact for both current investors and prospects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: - Renew existing investor businesses by keeping in regular contact with businesses in the portfolio. Seek out deeper engagement opportunities within the business and optimize their investor benefits to create a tangible ROI.
- Prospect for new investors by actively maintaining a prospect list, scheduling meetings, conducting timely follow-up and employing meaningful engagement strategies.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of GLI products and services and connect businesses to GLI resources, including investor lists, economic development tools, hiring and workforce development opportunities, and advocacy resources.
- Serves as first point of contact with the business community by attending GLI events, and other outreach activities within the greater Louisville business community and non-profits.
- Learn about issues of importance to investors and prospects by using tools such as LinkedIn and Business First to understand their respective businesses and visiting their websites to search pertinent company information and press releases.
- Assess investor and prospect needs based upon meetings and conversations to investigate what programs and tools might be meaningful to their businesses.
- Maintain investor and/or prospect notes in GLI's CRM database
- Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and correspondence in a timely manner that is detailed, conveying the value of GLI.
- Deliver customer service that aids investor retention and satisfaction through timely follow-ups and engagement strategies.
- Recruit new top investors using traditional prospecting methods, sales funnels, and engagement strategies.
- Deliver new and renewal revenue based on budget goals.
- Manage an account list as assigned to maintain a level of satisfaction as determined by the Senior Investor Development Director and the Vice President of Business Outreach Investor Development.
- Entertain investors or prospects at GLI events, lunches, and dinners.
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma and some post-secondary education in business or sales plus two (2) years experience in a sales position. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated.
- Exceptional communications skills and the ability to work with top level executives.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to maintain composure and always provide excellent customer service.
