About the Role

Our client, a confidential family office with a broad investment mandate, is seeking a sharp and driven Investment Analyst to join their lean, high-performance team in San Francisco. The family office actively invests across public markets, private equity, venture capital, and alternative assets - with a particular interest in tech and emerging industries.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior decision-makers and gain hands-on exposure across asset classes in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Investment Evaluation: Analyze potential opportunities across public equities and private markets, with an emphasis on tech and high-growth sectors.
  • Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess company fundamentals, market positioning, and investment risks.
  • Market Research: Track trends in global financial markets and emerging technologies; identify themes and companies aligned with the firm's strategic interests.
  • Diligence & Execution: Support transaction diligence across asset classes; collaborate with legal, operational, and investment partners.
  • Reporting: Prepare investment memos and internal presentations to support decision-making by the investment committee.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in investment banking (TMT/FSG), equity research, hedge funds, trading, private equity, or PEG at top consulting firms
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Exposure to public markets is required; tech-focused experience preferred
  • A degree from a top-tier university (e.g. Stanford, Harvard, UPenn, etc.)
  • Demonstrated passion for markets, investing, and emerging technology trends
  • Highly responsive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-moving environment with direct feedback

Nice to Have

  • Experience in private equity or venture capital
  • A strong personal interest in tech, financial news, and investing (e.g. Acquired podcast, HackerNews, FinTwit)
