Duties Day-to-day responsibilities include performing both hands-on and non-supervisory Team Lead guidance for three to five analysts charged with the gathering of investigative information and data from public, commercial, and private-sector databases and governmental/law enforcement systems and conducting complex research and analysis on a wide range of collected information for the purpose of detecting, identifying, and investigating criminal and serious misconduct related to OPR integrity investigations, OPR integrity initiatives, and CBP Fact Finder inquiries. This position starts at a salary of $142,488.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $185,234.00 (GS-14, Step 10). The Major Duties for this position are listed below but not limited to. Preparing complex written analytical and research reports, visual aids, and briefs regarding ongoing OPR proactive targeting packages, investigations, and initiatives. Preparing and delivers both complex and simple analytic tools and methods training to a variety of analyst, law enforcement and intergovernmental partner audiences both large and small. Fosters and maintains cross organizational analytic/law enforcement/border security relationships with regional entities. Utilizing sophisticated analytical software, graphics, and other automated applications to develop leads and reports on potential breaches of integrity and criminal activity. Maintains up to date analytic tradecraft skill sets by actively pursuing training as appropriate. The incumbent represents the Branch as a SME and providing expertise in the field of investigative analysis to conceive of, identify, collect resources for, and execute proactive programs to identify targets for investigation. Coaching and reviewing the work of the team analysts to ensure compliance with Federal, Department, Agency, and unit standards and best practices regarding analytic techniques and investigative methods. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Preparing and presenting high level, detailed briefings, seminars and training sessions to internal and external customers Explaining research and analytic results and recommend ways to respond to breaches in integrity or misconduct to leadership and stakeholders Possessing specialized experience in creating analytical products to include timelines, time event charts, theme lines, and link analysis in IBM i2 Analyst Notebook, CBP's intelligence analysis suite, and PLX Penlink for complex investigations Mentoring junior analysts, reviewing work completed by peer/junior analysts and providing feedback, conducting quality control/review of analytic product, overseeing complex analysis conducted by multiple analysts on a common project.
