The Greer Group is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist for an extended temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, a solid understanding of inventory control, and administrative skills. This position requires working independently and taking full responsibility for managing inventory with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Ensure accurate tracking and management of inventory levels. Perform regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies to maintain proper stock records. Ensure stock is FIFO.
- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and organize inventory in the warehouse, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of products.
- Administrative Support:
- Typing & Data Entry: Enter inventory data, process orders, and update records using Excel and other systems.
- Note Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of inventory movements, shipments, and any discrepancies. Prepare detailed reports on inventory levels and order statuses.
- Communication: Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to update on inventory availability, shipments, and product status.
- Order Processing: Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate and timely processing of orders and deliveries.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Follow safety protocols when handling inventory and operating forklifts.
- Marketing Support: Assist in product promotions by creating or updating signage, product availability lists, and marketing materials to help drive sales and visibility.
- Independent Work: Manage responsibilities efficiently with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
- Forklift Certification: Proven experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently. Individuals without current certification will be required to obtain certification immediately upon placement.
- Inventory Control Experience: Strong background in managing inventory and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Excel Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Excel for data entry, generating reports, and tracking inventory.
- Administrative Skills:
- Strong typing and data entry skills.
- Excellent note-keeping abilities to track inventory, shipments, and orders.
- Capable of creating and maintaining organized documentation.
- Marketing Skills: Basic knowledge of marketing to assist with product promotions, including creating or updating promotional materials.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy when handling inventory, data, and administrative tasks.
- Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work efficiently and independently, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, suppliers, and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with inventory management software or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Previous administrative, marketing, or customer service experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move products up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, standing or walking for extended periods.

- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
