Join our dynamic team as a Store Associate, where you'll play a crucial role in merchandising and stocking products, efficiently managing cashier duties, and ensuring our store remains clean and inviting. Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $17.50, Year 3 - $18.00, Year 4 - $18.00, Year 5 - $19.00
Duties and Responsibilities: You will be expected to:
- Consistently embody the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) for this role.
- Handle customer purchases, maintain cleanliness, and neatly stock shelves and merchandise displays.
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers during their shopping experience.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with store management.
- Offer constructive feedback to management on products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and overall store issues.
- Participate in inventory counts and monitor inventory accuracy.
- Follow cash policies and procedures to minimize losses.
- Adhere to company policies while ensuring the confidentiality and security of data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands: The role requires:
- Ability to stock merchandise and handle products weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights.
- Regularly standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking throughout the store.
- Capacity to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications: We're looking for candidates who:
- Are at least 18 years old.
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
- Can operate a cash register accurately and efficiently.
- Can safely operate equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks and floor scrubbers.
- Are equipped to perform general cleaning duties to company standards.
- Can interpret and apply company policies.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Can work independently and collaboratively.
- Are well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively.
- Meet state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
Education and Experience: Preferred qualifications include:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior retail experience.
- A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
