About The Company


Refrig-It is the premier warehouse for imported food ingredients, specializing in low-moisture foods such as nuts, seeds, and dried fruits. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Inventory Control Manager to lead our inventory management efforts within our warehouse distribution facility. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory operations in both public and private storage areas, including ambient, frozen, and 40-degree temperature-controlled spaces, specifically for food distribution.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Supervise daily inventory operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing food products in compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control processes to ensure accurate tracking and stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of inventory control associates, ensuring optimal productivity and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with General Manager, Operations, and Customer Service Departments to forecast inventory requirements and manage stock levels effectively.
  • Monitor inventory discrepancies, investigate causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize losses.
  • Develop, implement, and validate procedures, controls, and systems that prevent, detect, and correct errors in inventory transactions and balances.
  • Ensure compliance with food and safety regulations and company policies, maintaining proper documentation and reporting any issues to management.
  • Utilize inventory management software and tools to analyze data, generate reports, and drive data-driven decision making.
  • Establish a quality assurance team to ensure all products meet safety and quality standards before distribution.
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory control strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Leverage High-Jump skills and physical agility in maneuvering throughout the warehouse operations and storage solutions.

What You'll Bring To The Table


  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in inventory management and warehouse operations with at least two years in a management role.
  • Knowledge of food distribution process and familiarity with ambient and temperature-controlled storage solutions.
  • Experience or background in High-Jump or a similar warehouse management system
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Expertise in the use of reach truck and other warehouse machinery
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with pick lines, cycle counting, and management
  • Knowledge of food safety

Required Licenses, Certifications and Knowledge


  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations
  • FSIS Experience and Expertise
  • Principles of effective leadership
  • Principles and practices of inventory and quality management
  • Principles and practices of exemplary customer service
  • May require material handling certification
