SMS Staffing Inc is Hiring Immediately for a skilled Inventory Control Clerk.

Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk - A

Job Location: North Chicago, IL

Job Type: Contract (possible extension or convert to hire)

Pay: $21.38/Hr.

Shift Structure: 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

The role of the Inventory Control Clerk:

• Audit inventory across multiple systems (DFCS/SAP/ADMS) to ensure accuracy and investigate discrepancies.

• Process rejected, expired, and short-dated products while supporting the handling of materials for destruction, rework, or quarantine.

• Monitor and resolve inventory status issues, cancel orders when needed, and manage system error logs.

• Resolve inventory problems and notify appropriate personnel as needed.

• Generate reports and analyze key distribution metrics.

• Assist in training team members and support operations across multiple sites.

• Work in cold storage/freezer environments at temperatures as low as -20 C.

• Support Distribution and Receiving teams, especially during peak demand periods.

• Work overtime as necessary to meet operational needs.

About the Inventory Control Clerk: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience

• Knowledge of warehousing, logistics, and inventory workflows.

• Ability to handle inbound and outbound calls professionally.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable using multiple computer systems (Windows, DOS, Mainframe) and software (Lotus Notes, Excel, MS Office).

• Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

• Willingness to work in cold storage and overtime as needed.
