Job Description
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely fulfillment of stock requests, and supporting daily operational needs within the facility. This role involves coordinating supply replenishment, managing product returns, and supporting surgical case preparation through effective inventory management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Fulfill supply requests and issue products in a timely manner based on priority.
• Enter stock replenishment requests to maintain appropriate ASC inventory levels.
• Receive and process incoming deliveries, verify accuracy in Workday, perform put-away tasks, and stock inventory.
• Create and process product return requests with Supplier.
• Monitor and follow up on the status of missing or delayed orders.
• Verify that ordered items meet quality and consistency standards.
• Respond promptly to emergent requests for special pickups and deliveries.
• Conduct daily inventory checks and restock supplies as needed.
• Review the billing system for upcoming surgical cases and prepare surgical packs accordingly.
• Utilize physician preference cards to create daily inventory issues.
• Perform quarterly inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
• Collaborate regularly with the Site Director to assess procurement needs.
Additional Responsibilities
• Attend and complete all mandatory training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department.
• Order trays and instruments for scheduled procedures.
• Coordinate with scheduling teams for special equipment needs.
• Enter bill-only purchase orders for processing.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to push, pull, and lift heavy objects or carts as needed.
• Physical mobility to move around the facility efficiently.
• Agility to maneuver and operate in confined or stationary positions.
• Manual dexterity and hand coordination for equipment handling.
• Endurance for prolonged standing, bending, walking, and other repetitive activities.
• Maintain balance while performing tasks that involve climbing, bending, or reaching.
Education, Certifications, and Technical Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Prior experience in surgical or medical procurement is required.
• Basic math and accounting skills.
• Proficiency in computerized material management systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and priority-setting abilities.
• Familiarity with hand tools and material handling equipment (e.g., hand carts, dollies) is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.
• Experience with standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, scanner, email, voicemail) is preferred.
• Comfortable working in a Windows-based environment.
Travel Requirements
• Occasional travel to satellite locations for meetings and training sessions.
