Scope of the Project: This role involves supporting the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) in developing new business functions and troubleshooting within the SCDMV application framework. The focus will be on applications such as SCDMV Phoenix II client and web services, IIS web service transactions, and external business-to-business web service design, enhancement, and support. The position requires production troubleshooting support, with a particular emphasis on financial processing areas. The engineer will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Phoenix Financial Middle Piece project.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities: - Analyze the SCDMV Phoenix II and related web applications.
- Lead the analysis and troubleshooting of assigned system issues.
- Develop and propose effective solutions.
- Code, test, and implement solutions, ensuring they meet user requirements and interact with impacted users.
- Provide daily and weekly status updates to the development manager.
Required Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft .NET architecture and programming.
- Experience with MS web service architecture and programming.
- Knowledge of business-to-business web service interface architecture.
- Web user interface programming skills.
- Experience with Visual Studio 2015, 2019, and 2022.
- Expertise in VB.NET.
- Understanding of MS Internet Information Systems (IIS) architecture and support.
- Application programming experience with RDBMS (Oracle and SQL).
- Experience in financial systems, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payment reductions, general ledger postings, and reporting.
- Knowledge of SOA/web service strategy.
Preferred Skills: - Experience in web service troubleshooting and production support.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.
- Knowledge of C .NET and C .NET.
Required Education: A bachelor's degree in an information technology-related discipline with at least 8 years of experience is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required.
Required Certifications: Certifications are not required, but Microsoft technical certifications will be considered in the selection process.
