Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Internal Medicine Physician for a 53-day locum tenens position providing telehealth services to a correctional facility in Louisiana. Starting on 05/02/2025, this part-time assignment requires coverage for 3 hours once a week, preferably Wednesday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with providing basic sick calls, giving standing orders, prescribing and refilling medications, and making referrals via telehealth. Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Provide telehealth consultations to inmates in a correctional facility setting
  • Conduct basic sick calls and assess patient health concerns remotely
  • Issue standing orders for patient care and treatment
  • Prescribe and refill medications as necessary
  • Make appropriate referrals to specialists or for further medical care
  • Collaborate with on-site healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Adhere to all correctional facility protocols and security measures
  • Ensure compliance with telemedicine regulations and best practices
  • Participate in case reviews and quality improvement initiatives as needed

Additional Information:


  • Louisiana medical license required
