Locum Physician - General Medicine Opportunity in West Virginia
Join our dedicated team to provide essential medical services to our nation's veterans.
We are seeking a General Medicine Physician to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in a welcoming medical environment. This role allows for flexible scheduling and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of veterans. Ideal candidates will have their own office space and be available on a PRN basis in picturesque West Virginia.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours upon exam completion.
- Review medical records and provide administrative follow-up work as required.
- Utilize your own technology for report completion (personal laptop required; no Mac products).
- Participate in DMA training and obtain DMA certification as necessary.
- Potential for travel to other locations for exam coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or General Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in West Virginia.
- Proficiency in METs testing, respiratory, and cardiovascular evaluations.
- Experience with musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions.
- Ability to commit to ongoing training and certification processes.
- Current CV with home address for presentations.
License and Certification Requirements
- Must possess an active, unrestricted medical license in West Virginia.
- Board Certification required.
- Must be willing to complete DMA training for certification.
- ECFMG certificate required if graduated from an international medical school.
