Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - General Medicine in Louisiana
Join a dedicated team providing vital healthcare services as a General Medicine Provider in Louisiana. You'll perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation's Veterans within your own practice or at one of our leased facilities. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact while working on a flexible basis, with ongoing PRN needs.
The ideal candidate will have a well-established practice, as providers must have their own office within 50 miles of Fort Polk or Prairieville. This position allows for both half-day and full-day schedules, and there's a structured support process ensuring quick credentialing and training.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments.
- Submit Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of the exam.
- Complete necessary follow-up administrative work such as addendums and medical opinions.
- Utilize provided training for completed standardized forms and evaluations in the provider portal.
- Travel to VES leased facilities or schedule Veterans within your own practice.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Must possess a personal laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
- Board Certification in a relevant specialty.
- Active and unrestricted full medical license in Louisiana.
- Willingness to undergo DMA training to obtain DMA certification.
- Current CV with home address for presentation purposes.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Active Louisiana medical license.
- Board Certification in General Medicine or related discipline.
