Job Title: Locum Physician - General Medicine Job Summary
Join a dedicated team serving our nation's Veterans. We are seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
Work locations include both VES facilities and providers' own offices within 50 miles of designated areas in Illinois. This role is on a PRN basis, providing the flexibility you desire as you contribute to essential healthcare services for Veterans.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including muscle strength and range of motion testing.
- Submit evaluations through VES's provider portal within 48 hours of exam completion.
- Complete reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) promptly, ensuring all assignments are standardized forms without narrative reports.
- Maintain accurate records and complete follow-up administrative work, including medical opinions and reading diagnostics.
- Participate in mandatory DMA training to remain certified.
- Work half days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours) as required.
- Utilize a Goniometer and demonstrate proficiency in evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted physician license in Illinois.
- Proficiency in METs testing, respiratory, and cardiovascular evaluation.
- Must have a personal laptop (not a Mac/Apple product).
- Be willing to complete DMA training to obtain certification.
- AANP certification is preferred.
- Must provide a current CV including home address for presentation.
- Provide proof of ECFMG certification if applicable.
License and Certification Requirements
- Must hold an active and unrestricted physician license.
- Must be willing to become DMA certified; training to be completed post-credentialing.
- Provide license and certification numbers upon submission.
