INTERNAL MED MD/DO Physician w/OB, Chicago, IL Summary Overview:
The role involves providing comprehensive Internal Medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care, within the scope of the provider's training and licensing. Responsibilities include outpatient clinical care, inpatient pediatric care, teaching and mentoring residents, and participation in quality improvement
initiatives. The provider must maintain patient records using an electronic medical record system and adhere to safety, risk management, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver full-spectrum pediatric care in clinics and hospitals.

• Prescribe treatments, interpret diagnostic tests, and manage patient records.

• Provide inpatient care at affiliated medical centers.

• Mentor residents and contribute to teaching programs.

• Participate in meetings, policy reviews, and quality improvement efforts.
Requirements:

• MD or DO degree with OB residency completion.

• Board-certified or eligible in IM Medicine (certification required within 2 years if newly graduated).

• Unrestricted Illinois medical license and DEA certification.

• CPR certification (current and active). Additional Notes:
This role requires physical mobility within clinical sites and occasional shift coverage. The provider should demonstrate strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and safety.
Electronic Medical Record - Athena. All patient EMR encounters must be closed within 72 business hours.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) - All medical and dental providers $3,000 plus 5 days per calendar year.
Paid time Off (PTO) - Totaling 39 days per calendar year
UPDATE: Effective December 1, 2024-NOW 44 Days of PTO total, so 5 additional days.
27 days per calendar year accrued as of the state date and can carry over earned and unused days into the
following calendar year.
1 floater and 3 personal days per calendar year.
8 paid holidays - New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Call Schedule

• Rotating between Pediatrician, MDs newborn nursery rounding Monday to Friday. Traditionally either before or after clinic hours.

• If on the schedule for Saturday newborn nursery rounding would apply.

• Providers are not required to attend deliveries or be present during a "C" section.

• NO after hour/night/evening call.

• NO newborn rounding on Sundays

• On the 7 PrimeCare Holidays call is ALWAYS covered by the residents
Patient Template Schedule

• Medical Providers are scheduled to see patients 8.5 sessions per week.

• Medical providers have Administration time for 1.5 sessions per week.

• Patients are scheduled every 15 minutes. 24 to 26 patients are scheduled in an 8-hour clinic day.
Provide health care to children up to the age of 19. 2 medical assistants are assigned to each provider to ensure smooth patient care and flow. Teaching sessions
for Family Medicine Residents typically 2 sessions per week only for 2nd and 3rd year residents.
Providers are scheduled for one evening per week and work from 11:30am to 8pm on that day. All providers at the site cover one Saturday every four weeks working from 9am to 2pm and are scheduled another day off during the week.
Quality Incentive Program All providers and staff are eligible for the quality incentive program which is paid the first quarter of the year for the previous calendar year.
