Location: West Union, IA
Facility: Small critical access hospital
Required Certifications: IA RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty area. Previous experience in a critical access hospital is beneficial.
Charting Experience: EPIC experience preferred
Skills Required: Ability to circulate and/or scrub
Unit Information: GI, Ortho, Cataracts, Podiatry, Vascular, Pain Clinic, OB/GYN
Primary Cases: GI - colonoscopy/EGD; lap chole, appy, c-sections
Nurse to Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2 for procedures; variable during afternoon clinic
Candidate Attributes: Hardworking, resilient, adaptable to change, social. Willing to assist/train less experienced nurses. Assertive and confident in skills. Team player.
Uniform: Scrubs are provided by the hospital.
On Call/Call Back Requirements: 1 week of call every 3-4 weeks; 30-minute response time
Weekend and Holiday Requirements:- Weekend Call - every 3-4 weeks- Rotating holidays
Flexibility Required: The surgery department includes all areas such as pre/intra/post-op and clinic, requiring flexibility.
Education Required: Associate Degree or Certificate
Orientation: Orientation is not guaranteed during the first week.
