Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine
Join our dedicated team of General Medicine Providers in Houston, Louisiana, and make a difference in the lives of our nation s Veterans. This position involves performing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a PRN basis, providing you the flexibility to balance your schedule while serving those who have served us.
As part of our practice, you will engage in vital assessments and collaborate with a team committed to delivering high-quality care to Veterans.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform primarily interview-based examinations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete required documentation, including medical opinions and any necessary addendums.
- Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with the evaluation team.
- Adhere to compliance and reporting standards as mandated by the organization.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in METs testing, with a solid background in evaluating and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
- Experience or familiarity with Compensation & Pension assessments preferred.
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Louisiana (LA).
- Certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- MUST complete DMA training to become DMA certified.
