Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine in Illinois
Join a dedicated team working with Veterans at our facilities in Illinois. We are looking for General Medicine Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This locum opportunity offers the flexibility to schedule within your own practice or travel to designated VES activities, depending on your preference.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete reporting and submit Reports/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of exam completion.
- Utilize a goniometer and be proficient in evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Participate in ongoing administrative work including addendums and medical opinions.
- Follow guidelines for training and certification within the provided timeline.
Qualifications:
- Current, active, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois.
- AANP certification required.
- Proven expertise in METs testing and diagnosing cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.
- Must own a personal laptop (PC only, no Mac or Apple products).
- Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery is preferred.
- Ability to comply with DMA training and become certified.
- Must have a current CV with home address and credentials listed for presentation.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois.
- AANP certification.
- DMA certification required after training and upon activation.
