Position: Internal Audit Manager I


NPK is seeking an Internal Audit Manager, which is responsible for providing risk-based and objective assurance to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter. Assist company management in accomplishing its objectives through a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate, test, and improve the effectiveness of internal controls and processes over financial reporting, compliance, and governance processes. Effectively manage internal and external staffing resources, managing to deadlines and budgetary constraints. Promote efficiency and process improvement with the company.


Internal Audit Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Risk Management: In collaboration with senior management, evaluate risks and where appropriate, assess compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Quality Control: Maintain appropriate quality within the Internal Audit function consistent with internal audit standards. Monitor developments within the IIA standards and internal audit trend and where appropriate, incorporate into the company's Internal Audit Charter and procedures.
  • Internal Control Assessment: Understand internal controls of the company and perform tests of controls for key processes and systems, including oversight of all testing performed by third parties.
  • Communication: Collaborate within the Internal Audit team, executive management, control owners, and stakeholders to perform testing and communicate results. Provide timely and well-written audit reports to management. Exhibit strong executive presence.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or educational equivalent.
  • 7-10 years of experience in public or industry accounting/auditing with a minimum of one year of management experience. IT audit knowledge and experience a plus.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CIA, and/or CISA) required.
  • Sound knowledge of auditing standards, audit procedures, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance, including planning and testing methods.
  • Experience with Oracle and Infor a plus. Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel, and data analytics.
  • Able to work independently and supervise team members and lead with strong technical, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to interact with all levels of the organization, including staff, management, senior leadership and the board and directors.
  • Strong judgment-fair and objective.
