Account Manager, Internal - US
The role of the Account Manager, Internal is to create opportunities to grow business within their assigned customer base, as well as prospecting for and supporting the development of new or high potential customers. Through managing a portfolio of customers, they will support (and be supported by) other Account Managers in their region and work closely as a team.
The Account Manager would be expected to meet with assigned customers both virtually and in-person while working to sales targets while maximizing both margins and gross sales. The position will require some travel within the US with occasional travel internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer inquiry, order, and opportunity management.
- Develop and manage sales with current and new customers.
- Proactively identify and respond to potential sales, purchasing or marketing opportunities.
- Grow territory & customers revenue while maintaining or increase average margin percentages.
- Manage the enquiry processing for specialist products and technical solution products.
- Customer database management within Salesforce.
- Develop Goods In, Packing, and Shipping routines.
- Assist Accounting in Accounts Receivable and Past Dues.
Key Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates' or Bachelors' degree in Business, Communications, or in a Scientific discipline preferred (engineering, physics, chemistry, etc.).
Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or sales role in industries using engineering, physics, chemistry or specialist materials e.g. ceramics, polymers, alloys, metals, etc.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with CRM software (preferably Salesforce), and Dynmaics 365
- Excellent presentation and developmental skills including influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills both internally and externally.
- Excellent telephone and listening skills.
- Experience in and willingness to visit customers face to face on occasion.
- Ability to teamwork, drive communication and collaboration, ability to work on own initiative, proactive approach.
- Creative and results driven.

- Sales, marketing, and referral lead generating experience ideal.
