Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Robotics Software Engineer Intern is the research and development of new technologies. This position is involved in the research, development and prototyping of autonomous systems encompassing areas such as computer vision, object recognition, path planning and following.
Responsibilities
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
- Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
- Perform ad-hoc requests to review, develop, and/or analyze operational or department-specific processes.
- Assist in the setup and maintain, design of Software Modules and overall Architecture.
- Manage a research project during the internship that focuses on key R&D problems.
Requirements
Education:
- Pursuing Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or other related field, preferred
- Superior academic and leadership achievements, preferred
Experience:
- Prior hands-on experience with robots including grounds robots, self-driving cars, quadrotors, robotic arms, and mobile robots.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in programming with C and Python
- Prior experience developing in Linux environment
Additional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of ROS, Rviz, Gazebo, OpenCV and PCL

Other Details
Work Hours:
- This is a part time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Compensation:
- This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
