What we are looking for:Yazaki is looking for a motivated
Summer Intern to join our GMBU Engineering team in
Canton, MI. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from
May 12, 2025, to
August 15, 2025.
What you will be doing: - Project Work: Investigate and identify the Customer component part and specification part numbers in Yazaki's internal BEAMS application for Yazaki's General Motors wiring business. Create the work orders and drive the updates to the application and the CAD component library with missing or inaccurate Customer part or specification number information.
- Success Metrics: BEAMS and CAD library updates for all components and bulk materials with missing data and for those components with incorrect or conflicting information.
- Collaboration: Work closely with GMBU Design Release Engineers, Principal Engineers, Yazaki's Data Management Organization, and Purchasing Department.
What you will bring to the table: - Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret industry drawings and specification.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
