Background
Worldreader is a global ed-tech organization dedicated to improving literacy and learning outcomes for young children. With a mission to open up endless possibilities to children through reading and captivating activities, we reach families in more than 100 countries with content that encourages family-centered reading experiences. Together, we can inspire a new generation of confident and smart children wherever they may be.
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented intern with an interest in international development to support our Marketing & Communications team. You will perform a variety of tasks related to building out internal systems, increasing visibility, and producing marketing materials.
This is an unpaid remote internship based in the US.
Scope of Work
- Write blog posts, booklists, and other content pieces.
- Develop marketing and communications materials.
- Support campaigns (e.g., World Literacy Day, end-of-year, etc.).
- Manage social media and email communications.
- Assist with website improvements, tools, and systems development.
- Create designs such as social media tiles, PDFs, and videos for corporate and social media.
- Support local visibility efforts across our regions.
- Ad hoc research as needed.
Time Frame
From June 11 to October 10, 2025, up to 15 hours per week.
Deliverable
Submit a final report and/or presentation culminating your experience in front of Worldreader staff at the end of the internship.
Desired Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program based in the US.
- Majoring in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Must have own computer, reliable internet connection, and workspace.
- Capable of working effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Available to attend at least two morning meetings per week.
- Affinity for content generation and ability to learn digital platforms quickly (e.g., email marketing tools, social media, databases, basic graphic design applications, etc.).
- Fluent in Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, etc.).
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Commitment to time frame.
