Intern Cyber Security

JOB TITLE: Intern, Cyber Security

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: As a Cyber Security Intern, you will collaborate with our security team to advance various initiatives within our security program.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to CIO

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Collecting evidence as required to support HIPAA or SOC2 audits

• Collecting evidence and coordinating vendor reviews as part of our vendor management program.

• Assist in the creation of vulnerability management dashboards to help improve visibility in the performance of our vulnerability management program

• Partner with Information Security Analysts and understand and adhere to IT security standards

• Work with cross-functional teams and/or vendors to address vulnerabilities according to policy requirements.

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in IT, related coursework, or personal projects is a plus

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Work may require hand dexterity for the operation of office machines. Mobility to complete errands. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office and/or remote work environment. Position may involve contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Occasional evening and weekend work.
