Interim Accounting Manager

Location: Fairfax, VA - free parking
Schedule: Either 4 days per week OR 5 days per week (Monday - Friday)

• Workday is 7.5 hours/day

• If working 4 days/week - position is 30 hours/week.

• If working 5 days/week - position is 37.5 hours/week.

• Can choose hours between 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm (with lunch break)

Candidates MUST be able to commit to the schedule to be considered.

Position Overview:
Our client needs assistance due to the current workload. Their current Accounting Manager has resigned with professional notice and our client needs someone to fill in on an interim basis for the next month+.

Responsibilities:

• Interim Accounting Manager will train with the Accounting Manager who has resigned for a week on most important aspects of the job. Should take detailed notes during training period. (An admin staff will be assisting to clean up/organize the office during training week, as well).

• Interim Accounting Manager will be reviewing payroll (Executive Director enters payroll for Interim Accounting Manager to review) - outsourced to Kelly Payroll in MD and its integrated with their benefits

• After payroll is submitted, they have a certain of days to deposit for the 401k, which Interim Accounting Manager will do.

• Interim Accounting Manager will be responding to questions from staff - AP (1) and AR (1)

• Interim Accounting Manager will use a trust account (since client is a law firm)

• Interim Accounting Manager will be responsible for bank reconciliations, journal entries, etc.

• Interim Accounting Manager will create reports from the shareholder meetings (including 12-14 reports that are somewhat of a template, plugging in . Will be trained on this) then relay information when a new hire is made in the future.

• Ad hoc tasks and projects, as requested

Requirements:


• 5+ years of accounting experience

• Must have previous management experience

• Excel - must know formulas, create spreadsheets that can be shared to the shareholders during their meetings.

• Trust account experience would be a nice to have but NOT required. (Trust accounts are used for their retainers). Outside accountant will be a resource for information and guidance related to this.

• Law firm experience is a plus but NOT required

• Perfect Law is the system (not required). Will be trained.

• CPA is a plus but NOT required
