Profile

A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property and Commercial Litigation Practice Group. This position is ideal for attorneys with a strong commitment to litigation and trial work, particularly in complex business disputes involving intellectual property, securities, and contracts. The successful candidate will have 4-8 years of litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and excellent writing and communication skills. Remote work is an option, although the home office for this role is based in Denver, Colorado.

Duties

  • Compile, organize, and analyze discovery in document-intensive cases involving complex business disputes
  • Engage with opposing counsel and third parties on discovery disputes
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, Federal Circuit and Markman briefs, and related litigation documents
  • Manage eDiscovery processes, including interviews and gathering ESI (experience with platforms like Relativity preferred)
  • Prepare for and attend depositions of fact and expert witnesses
  • Argue motions in court and support senior litigators in court proceedings
  • Provide strategic litigation and risk management advice directly to clients
  • Participate in trial preparation and attend trials with the trial team

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of intellectual property litigation experience, with a preference for patent litigation
  • Familiarity with ESI protocols and tools
  • Strong skills in drafting motions and other legal documents
  • Commitment to litigation and trial practice

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Admission to the USPTO bar is preferred

Skills

  • Proficiency in eDiscovery tools and document review platforms
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in technical fields and/or completion of a federal clerkship preferred
