Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced IP Docketing Manager to oversee and lead its U.S. and international patent/trademark docketing operations. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a proactive approach to improving processes and minimizing risk. This role is a key part of the firm's IP team and requires someone who thrives in a detail-heavy, collaborative environment.
Breakdown of the Job: IP Docketing Management - 100% (Patent & Trademark, U.S. + Foreign + PCT)
Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day operations of the docketing function across U.S. and international IP matters.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the docketing team.
- Oversee data integrity and accuracy of docket entries, deadlines, and reporting.
- Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and vendors to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Monitor IP rules and changes to ensure timely updates to procedures.
- Drive process improvements, risk mitigation, and tech adoption
Qualifications- 10+ years of IP docketing experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Deep knowledge of U.S., foreign, and international patent/trademark procedures.
- Experience using major docketing systems (e.g., FoundationIP) and platforms (TEAS, TSDR, WIPO)
- Strong people leadership, communication, and workflow improvement skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate (ABA-accredited) preferred
