Purpose:

As part of the Retail Integrated Marketing team, the Marketing Consultant role is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and ongoing oversight of Athene's automated retail annuity financial professional marketing campaigns and programs. This individual should be a self-starter with highly effective communication skills, a strong understanding of the financial services industry, target audiences, and marketing strategy approaches. They should be data and results driven, constantly monitoring effectiveness of marketing programs, and collaborating to optimize and improve campaign and program(s) ROI. The position will work cross functionally with marketing SMEs to define, build, execute and optimize our strategies, possessing the ability to rally project teams around a shared vision and driving alignment with stakeholders.

Accountabilities:
  • Recommend, define, and build high-level strategy & roadmap for assigned financial professional activation marketing initiatives, aligned to business strategy & sales objectives.
  • Design and final accountability of assigned campaign architecture and outcomes in collaboration with a core team of marketing SMEs.
  • Continuously monitor KPI's and optimize marketing initiatives to ensure investment is delivering value/revenue.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of financial professional behavior by channel and actively analyze initiative results to develop recommendations for new strategies and enhancements to existing initiatives.
  • Manage and drive accountability to a framework where marketing receives regular feedback on lead quality for continuous improvement.
  • Develop a strong understanding of existing integrated marketing initiatives and processes, owning the evolution of them and the transition to 'always-on' programs that support our marketing strategy.
  • Work cross functionally with stakeholders to define and develop audience segmentation and 'rules of prioritization' for instances where audience overlap exists.
  • Accountability for driving financial professionals through the marketing and sales funnel, driving action and continuously improving the initiative to increase sales.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Seven (7+) years of experience in marketing, sales and/or related business experience.
  • Experience in the financial services and/or annuity industry is highly desired.
  • Proven understanding of marketing best practices with the ability to develop and optimize lead generation strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge (or ability to rapidly develop) and an in-depth understanding of retail sales channels, audience needs, producer acquisition and key moments of influence in the sales process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create and articulate business cases and rally team members around a common goal.
  • A highly analytical mind, with passion and experience in using audience analysis, data and insights to monitor and optimize marketing initiatives.
  • The ability to build rapport, collaborate and influence at multiple levels within an organization.
  • Strong project management disciplines. Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver results on time and on budget.
  • Highly effective problem resolution, analytical and organizational skills. An ability to identify and create strategic solutions and define a path forward in moments of ambiguity.
  • Eager to own the creation of a strategic vision and rally team members around a common goal.
  • Ability to travel occasionally - less than 5% of the time.
