Description: Minerva Dairy is seeking a positive, team-oriented, and eager-to-learn Intake Operator to join our growing crew. As Ohio's oldest family-owned creamery, we pride ourselves on crafting award-winning butter and dairy products through integrity, innovation, and tradition. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our production process-managing the safe and accurate flow of raw milk into our facility, assisting with lab responsibilities, and collaborating with an incredible team. We're looking for someone who brings a great attitude, loves to pitch in, and is excited to grow with us-especially as we implement new tools like Milk Moovement to modernize how we work.
Core Responsibilities
Raw Milk Receiving & Processing
Safely unload and route raw milk into designated silos following SOPs and safety protocols
Accurately collect and label milk samples for required testing
Operate and monitor equipment involved in milk intake, including flow meters, valves, and CIP systems
Record milk weights, temperatures, and other critical control points with precision
Maintain a clean, sanitary intake bay and surrounding areas (including floors, walls, and hoses)
Lab & Quality Duties
Perform basic lab functions: pH, temperature, antibiotic screening, visual/smell assessments
Maintain compliance with FDA, ODA, and internal quality standards
Support detailed and timely data entry using Milk Moovement and other lab platforms
Assist in preparing test records, logs, and batch documentation
Team Collaboration & Accountability
Work collaboratively with fellow team members and communicate clearly with supervisors
Support a clean and orderly work environment-every team member is responsible for their space
Notify designated leads (e.g., Milk Procurement Specialist) when lab supplies need restocked; maintain organization as a team
Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required
A team player with a can-do attitude, ready to contribute and support others
Eagerness to learn new systems, tools, and procedures
Previous dairy, food production, or intake receiving experience preferred
Bulk Milk Weigher & Sampler License (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and sanitation standards
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold/wet environments
Comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and dependability
Computer literacy and willingness to learn Milk Moovement software
