The Opportunity At USAA, we believe in learning and growth. Our Insurance Customer Service role is designed with a comprehensive, fully paid six-month training program that equips you with the necessary skills. This program includes training materials, engaging class discussions, hands-on training, e-learning, and instructor-led guidance to help you support our members independently. We even cover all licensing fees. New training classes commence every month.
Our in-office development program nurtures the training you need and encourages a proactive approach to member support.
After six months, you'll have the opportunity to work remotely two days a week. The exact days will be mutually agreed upon with your manager. Our flexible schedules vary from 8:00 am MDT to 9:00 pm MDT, with a
shift differential of 15% for weekday hours worked after 6:00 pm and for any hours worked on weekends. We highly encourage military veterans and spouses to apply. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
As part of our licensing training program, you will be required to obtain a property and casualty license for your state by your
third week of employment. We will supply all study materials and cover the costs for up to three licensing exam attempts. Moreover, within your first 90 days, we will provide resources to help acquire additional state licenses to better assist our members.
We are currently seeking committed professionals to join our team at the Colorado Springs office, located at
1855 Telstar Dr, Colorado Spring, CO 80920, for upcoming insurance sales and customer service opportunities in
2025. As an Insurance Customer Service Specialist, you will work within established guidelines to deliver customer service, sales, and retention activities for various USAA Property & Casualty personal line products. You will assist members with both new and existing USAA policies to strengthen their relationship with our organization. Representatives will engage with members across multiple channels to provide adequate coverage and advice to ensure their financial security.
What You'll Do: - Manage inbound and outbound communications, including phone calls and emails, to enhance the Property & Casualty member experience.
- Use your growing knowledge of personal lines insurance to assist members with quotes, policy binding, billing, payment options, underwriting, and coverage changes.
- Identify member needs and provide accurate advice and solutions regarding insurance products and services.
- Navigate a contact center environment efficiently while maintaining engaging interactions across various channels.
- Maintain your Property & Casualty license and state registrations.
- Ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
What You Have: - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with clear and professional communication via phone and email to process insurance-related information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while using multiple business applications.
- Understanding of insurance regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Ability to obtain Property & Casualty licenses and state registrations within 90 days of hire, depending on your location.
What Sets You Apart: - One year of customer contact experience in a needs-based sales environment.
- Six months of experience communicating with customers via phone, email, and/or face-to-face.
- US military experience either through service or as a spouse/domestic partner.
Training Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
USAA operates seven days a week. Following training, you will have a work schedule consisting of either four or five days per week that may include weekends, determined by business needs.
Work Schedule: This role entails 40 hours of work per week across both weekdays and weekends, with shifts based on business requirements.
Salary: The hiring range for this position is $46,400.00 - $48,900.00.
